Having been painting since early childhood, Rosemary now dedicates her life to working as a fulltime artist. Nature is her prime inspiration, and living on three acres of garden and natural bushland on the Mornington Peninsula gives her an endless supply of ideas.

From the organic shapes, earthy tones and rich textures, to the flora fauna and birdlife. Rosemary works primarily in acrylics and also creates in a variety of other mediums including oil pastel, charcoal and encaustic wax. Also found are vintage botanical prints, decorative papers and old magazine pages as well as gold and silver leaf. Layers are built up to add depth, then sanded and rubbed back to create a weathered appearance that evokes the influence of time.

Rosemary rarely pre-plans work, but rather lets it develop and tell its own story. Sensitivity could be used to describe her work as it portrays the delicate fragile beauty and mystery of nature. ‘What interests me is the smaller hidden elements’ Rosemary explains.
